35TH ANNUAL NABWMT CONVENTION

IN NEWARK/NEW YORK CITY JULY 14-18, 2015

"Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage

Convention features included:

• A sunset boat cruise around Manhattan, with dinner, dancing, entertainment, and awards.

• Speakers from near and far, including keynote Walter Naegle, partner of Bayard Rustin.

• "Sounds of the City" annual summer outdoor music festival at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

• Riverfront R&R (Refreshment and Relaxation) at Newark’s newly redesigned waterfront.

• An array of engaging workshops focusing on empowerment and community service issues, such as working with youth, and transgender concerns.

• A Black/People of Color and White Caucus, utilizing a "fishbowl" concept, facilitated by Dr. Cheryl Clarke and Dr. Mitchel Karp, veteran diversity professionals.

• A Remembrance of our ancestors.

In July of 2015, MACT/NY hosted the NABWMT national convention in Newark/New York City.  Many thanks to all those who helped to make the convention a success.
